Real name: Maria Izadora Ussher Calzado Birthday: August 12, 1982 Model. Endorser. Award winning actress. Iza was named after the dancer, Isadora Duncan. Her father is choreographer and TV director Lito Calzado. In the late 1990s, she finished high school in Miriam College and then completed her undergraduate degree in Fine Arts at the University of Santo Tomas. Before entering show business, she worked as a dubber for a Mexicanovela. Iza started out as a guest teen star in the show, Click, which led to further roles. In 2004, she was cast in her first movie, Star Cinema's Milan. She was awarded the Golden Screen Awards Breakthrough Performance by an Actress for her role in the said film. The following year, she took home the Gawad Urian Best Supporting Actres award for her film Sigaw, directed by Yam Laranas. She was also handpicked to play the same role in The Echo, the English remake of Sigaw. On January 18, 2008, Iza won the Model Star Award from the Korea Asia Model Award Festival. On January 24, 2012, Iza signed a three year exclusive contract with ABS-CBN making her a certified Kapamilya. She is set to host the second season of The Biggest Loser: Pinoy Edition replacing Sharon Cuneta. She will make her heavy drama comeback via Maalaala Mo Kaya where she will be seen playing various roles to celebrate her 10th year in showbiz. Iza is also set to join Sarah Geronimo and John Lloyd Cruz in their reunion movie with Star Cinema tentatively titled, When A Man Loves A Woman and the much anticipated teleserye, Alta.
